Santiago 2026 CIMPA School

Criptografía post-cuántica algebraica y aplicaciones

Presentation

The school will look at mathematical structures and tools associated to post-quantum cryptography, allowing for secure communications in an age where quantum computers are becoming a reality.

The school will concentrate on 5 topics arising from the development of post-quantum cryptography and associated applications. The first 4 lines are: isogeny-based cryptography, lattice-based cryptography, cryptosystems based on coding theory, and cryptosystems based on multivariate quadratic equations. For each of these lines there will be two sets of lectures: introductory and advanced. The fifth line, MPC-in-the-head (multi-parties computations), comes as an application of cryptographic techniques studied in the school and is considered an advanced topic.

As such, the students will get to know the different mathematical tools associated to each paradigm, the hard problems associated to each one and how they are used to obtain cryptosystems that provide security against attacks based on quantum computers. This will enable students to follow ongoing research associated to these systems and their applications.
